7 Mos. Going on 18 Years

Friday marked Caden's 7 month - and a lively month it was! He went from growling to squealing to snorting like a piglet?!?! However, we are beginning to think that the squeals will be ever present. He is a very vocal baby. Cade recently graduated to the next skill level at Gymboree. On his first day with his new classmates, Caden played Baby Soccer. He didn't take his eye off the ball once and by the end of the game he was actually kicking at the ball. He is practically grown up. Caden hasn't started to crawl, yet. He only scoots, bounces and rolls. But he doesn't need us to put him to sleep anymore. He puts himself to sleep at 7:45 PM, sharp! He is drinking from a sippy cup. Caden's first tooth sprouted last Wednesday evening and he started eating solids this weekend. Plus, he is leaving for college tomorrow!! Not really, but it sure feels like that time will be upon us soon!

TexMex Lunch

Caden and I were able to meet up with some of Ryan's family-friends this week. Ryan couldn't make lunch because of his work schedule-we sure missed him! Caden had a great time getting to know Lynn and Karen over lunch. What a treat!

The Lost Blog: Adventures in the Depths of The Galleria

The blog is from before Christmas. We shall call it "The Lost Blog." Lindy, the two Cades, and myself met up for lunch and a stroll around The Galleria. It was so much fun! However, we were a comedy of errors. One of us forgot to bring their stroller ;) So, our idea was that we would rent one. When we finally located the rental, the stroller looked... questionable. We weighed our options and decided to take turns toting one child and strolling the other. We ate delicious Chick-Fil-A and headed off for some baby-shopping. To get to all the children's stores, you have to be on Level 1. But to get to that section of Level 1, you have to take strollers outside, exit The Galleria and reenter across the street. We figured this out after traveling up and down the elevator, where we were separated by desperate last-minute Christmas shoppers. We finally made it to the correct side/level of The Galleria and did minimal shopping. Someone even stopped to snap our picture. It was a fun trip but I don't think we will venture to The Galleria with the kiddos again anytime soon!

Homecoming

Saturday turned into a double celebration. We celebrated Christmas with Ryan's family in the afternoon. That evening Nanny came home from the hospital. What a blessing that she is finally back home, near her family.

Celebrating the New Year!

I remember as a child knowing that the year 2000 would suddenly bring about technology enabling flying cars and meals that were contained within a pill capsule. Here we sit in 2009, still waiting for flying cars, not getting any younger. We spent New Year's Eve with good friends. Cade stayed up for most of the fun. He was able to get a couple of good naps on the way to and from the party. Thanks to Lillie and Reagan for hosting a wonderful New Year's party! The food was delicious and the company even better!

New Year's Day was very relaxing. We put away our Christmas decor and ate our annual "good luck" feast. Then we lounged around watching movies. What a wonderful day to spend with the family! It is hard to believe that 2009 is here. We wish you all the best during the year!
