Sweet Dreams, Sweet Ones

Caden's Big Boy Bed arrived this week and boy is it big!
He is so proud!
The kids are doing very well in the same room. At night, after we say our prayers in tuck them in, we can hear Cade and Charli Kate having sweet little conversations on the monitor. Caden tells her things that he has done during the day. Charlotte babbles back to him but Ryan and I imagine that she is talking about the fun they are going to have together tomorrow.
"Mommy, if I take this last picture, you must get me out of my crib! CHEEEEEEESE!"
However, Charli Kate has said a few real words. We think that "Kay-Kay" means Cade, "ba-ba" is bottle, and her first words were a very clear, "NO, NO, NO, NO!"

9 Month Relief

Charli Kate is finally on a regular sleep schedule. FINALLY!! Since she was such a great sleeper for the first three months of her life, the past six months have been such a disappointment, as far as parental quality of life goes ;). So, walking into Charlotte's 9 mo. wellness exam wearing rumpled clothing, my hair in a messy-knot (Girls, you know this hair trick from the 90's), my plea to her pediatrician went something like this, "Please help me. I am so tired that I feel like I am dying." His response was, "There is no physical reason that she should not be sleeping through the night." Awesome. He then proceeded to go though our routine. From there we were able to find a few bad habits that I had created by, yes, babying my baby. He also suggested that I try to push more table food and less baby food. Two nights later, she is sleeping through the night. I am only embarrassed that it took our pediatrician giving me a serious talking to and a few tips to get the job done. She is so much happier!

Charli Kate is such a big girl, now! Standing and trying to climb the stairs are our favorite physical activities. She loves to read and turn the pages in her books. She gets very frustrated if you turn the page for her or turn it before she is ready. Ryan call's her his Little Diva. She is such a smart person. She knows exactly what she wants, so confident. We love that about her. She is such a beauty, inside and out!

Long Time, No Blog!

I have been so behind with the blog... here are a couple of pictures from the past few weekends!

Elmo Party!

Jenna's backyard Elmo birthday party was so much fun! The Elmo bouncer was a big hit.
The kids loved their hats!

Lil' Thompson Sparklers

We spent the 4th of July in Dallas visiting family. My cousin Beth had her third baby, Hannah Cristine. 9 lbs, 1 oz. of sweetness and oh-so-cute! Congrats Beth and Eric! We are so excited for the Carlisle's!!!
We spent most of the weekend in the pool. The rest of the time we played games and ate yummy food at Aunt Bobbye and Lloyd's home.
"Bubba! Tell Sissy something funny!"
Caden placed his right hand on Mimi's shoulder and his left on the tree's shoulder. Charlotte lost patience quickly with taking pictures!
Melting down after the fun...

Aunt Bobbye and Lloyd keep bees their 'grounds.' Sandra and Jael braved visited the bee keeping station...
What a fun weekend! Can't wait to see everyone again, soon!!!
